31 07 2009

You must must must and must have already come across a chicken joke on the web .
It’s a joke a bit like “Knock, Knock …. Who’s there?” and its usually a witty answer to the question “Why did the chicken cross the road ?”
So yours truly did some research and came up with some witty answers found across the web and added some NITT fundaes to it as well. Ok, you do need to relate to the personality answering , only then you will get the humour. So here goes …….
“Why did the chicken cross the road ?”
Bob Dylan : How many roads must one chicken cross?

Bill Gates : I have just released the new Chicken 2000, which will both cross roads AND balance your checkbook, although dividing 3 by 2 will get you 1.4999999999.

Robert Frost : To reach the sidewalk less travelled by.

William Shakespeare : I don’t know why, but methinks I could rattle off a hundred-line soliloquy without much ado

Albert Einstein : Whether the chicken crossed the road or the road moved beneath the chicken depends upon your point of view. The chicken did not cross the road – it transcended it.

A Square: To get to the other side

Sir Isaac Newton: Chickens at rest tend to stay at rest. Chickens in motion tend to cross the road.

Quantum Logic Chicken: The chicken is distributed probabalistically on all sides of the road until you observe it on the side of your course.

President Clinton : I did not, and I repeat, I did not have sexual relations with that chicken.

Karl Marx : It was a historical inevitability.

Saddam Hussein : This was an unprovoked act of rebellion and we were quite justified in dropping 50 tons of nerve gas on it.

Julius Caesar : To come, to see, to conquer

Martin Luther King, Jr. : I envision a world where all chickens will be free to cross roads without having their motives called into question.

Martin Luther King : It had a dream.

Neil Armstrong : One small step for chickenkind, one giant leap for poultry.

The Bible : And God came down from the heavens, and He said unto the chicken, “Thou shalt cross the road.” And the Chicken crossed the road, and there was much rejoicing.

Moses : Know ye that it is unclean to eat the chicken that has crossed the road and that the chicken that crosseth the road doth so for its own preservation.

Buddha : If you ask this question, you deny your own chicken nature.

Fox Mulder (The X-Files dude): You saw it cross the road with your own eyes. How many more chickens have to cross the road before you believe it?

Scully (Mulder’s sidekick): It was a simple bio-mechanical reflex that is commonly found in chickens.

Jerry Seinfeld : Why does anyone cross a road? I mean, why anyone doesn’t ever think to ask, ‘What the heck was this chicken doing walking all over the place anyway?

GRANDPA:
In my day we didn’t ask why the chicken crossed the road. Somebody told us the chicken crossed the road, and that was good enough.

JOHN KERRY:
Although I voted to let the chicken cross the road, I am now against it! It was the wrong road to cross, and I was misled about the chicken’s intentions. I am not for it now, and will remain against it.

JOHN LENNON:
Imagine all the chickens in the world crossing roads together, in peace.

OPRAH:
Well, I understand that the chicken is having problems, which is why he wants to cross this road so bad. So instead of having the chicken learn from his mistakes and take falls, which is a part of life, I’m going to give this chicken a car so that he can just drive across the road and not live his life like the rest of the chickens.

PAT BUCHANAN:
To steal the job of a decent, hardworking American.

I went around asking the clubs for their official answer and unearthed the following.

NIT Trichy : The Past

31 07 2009

Its been 2 years for me here at NIT Trichy and I guess I am in a position to reflect about what makes NIT Trichy NIT Trichy, both the good and the bad. So here I am , I’ll make a list of things that has made my college what it is today, the most influential factors that went behind the creation of brand NITT
The Great Indian American Dream
Yes we had a huge number of students migrating to the United States fulfilling what was once the great American Dream(That was when we still heard of the Lehmann Brothers’ and the Northern Rocks). They went to US became professors, entrepreneurs, software wizards and there was no stopping NITT being known all over US. Which makes it a little bit easier for us the current generation to get foreign internships and GRE-scholarships a bit not-the-hard way and bring in guest lectures for Pragyan as well.
The TnP
It is and has always been the best department of our college.Season after season , through IT booms and IT recessions, through pinkslip era and salary boom era , it has always managed placements which is way better than other NITs.We were the first to attract Lehmann Brothers, Schlumberger, General Electric and Goldman Sachs out of the IITs into the NITs which left offered packages skyrocketing. Even now the choice of companies is just amazing even though the salaries might not be comparable to IITs.Like they say in campus “It can get anyone placed.”
Miscellaneous
There are also a bunch of other factors worth mentioning. Its location is pivotal to its placements being located not so far from Chennai , plus being in an industrial area and having an international airport. There is also Pragyan, which has made a niche for itself among top international tech-fests in India. Also worth mentioning is the top quality of students we have been getting . Top rankers in AIEEE has always been coming to the campus year after year and this Is what drives NITT, after all students are the most important resource of any campus.
